It is God’s goodness that leads to repentance. I have plenty of repenting to do this year. More than usual, I’m sorry to say. But this Lent is already reminding me that the goal is not ultimately about attacking my sins, but about reawakening my glad identity. Repentance clears away the space for our true selves to breathe again. This might be what it means to be born again….again and again.
