I saw a sign that read, “Democracy Doesn’t Fear Protests, Dictators Do.”
As our fore-fathers knew, the right to peacefully assemble seems critical to self-governance (perhaps this is why it was the very first amendment to our Constitution). We all know there are abuses going on and that those benefiting from them don’t want to be called out — are we saying calling them out shouldn’t be allowed? What if you are the object of that abuse of power personally?
